From Monday you buy the card into the phone only if you provide the data – Virtual Poland

From now on when buying a prepaid phone card, you must enter your details. It entered into force and some provisions of anti-terror law. Holders of unregistered cards are little more than 5 months to transfer its operators.

Representative Office of Electronic Communications, Pawel Kucharczyk calculates what data we have to give purchasing so-called pre-paid phone card.

– According to regulations, the subscriber must provide the name and social security number, if applicable to user privacy. If it is a foreigner, then here you need a passport number or residence card – says Feldman.

Those who bought these cards before, you should register them until the end of January next year.

We can make such registration at a distance, for example, via the operator’s website. However, we must remember that the operator must confirm this data – adds a representative of the Office of Electronic Communications.

When the card will be buying the company, its representative must provide, among other things NIP and REGON. The obligation of registration cards introduced the Anti-Terror Law. Parliament passed it in early June. Adjusting entered into force on July 2.

Data from the Office of Electronic Communications shows that last year Poland had more than 65 million SIM cards, of which more than half a prepaid card. European Commission data shows that in Poland there are over 20 million such cards.
