Roadblock at KWK Brzeszcze. Exacerbated miners protest – Virtual Poland

Today, Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz succeed in Silesia, where he will meet with representatives of the mining unions. As reported Government Information Centre, the meeting will take place at 14.00 at the Provincial Office in Katowice.
 

The information also confirmed the structures of the head of the Silesian PO, Mr Thomas Tomczykiewicz in the morning Radio Katowice. He said the Prime Minister has repeatedly said he wants to talk with the miners, and the expectations of trade unionists are “prohibitive”. He added that the reform is absolutely necessary.
 


 The miners after yesterday, for the second time already broken talks with government representatives in Katowice, announced that they want to talk only with the Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz. As argued by representatives of trade unions, Undersecretary of State in the Prime Minister Jakub Jaworowski union action called “pajacowaniem”. At a press conference after talks apologetic and government representatives emphasized that they are at all times ready to resume negotiations.
 

On Saturday, the reason for breaking the union talks was their claim that representatives of the government, who arrived in Katow ice, do not have power of attorney to talk with them. Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz, going out to Paris assured, however, that they have power of attorney.
 
 

In the adopted on Wednesday by the government plan for the Coal Company stated that the company’s funding opportunities are exhausted and without restructuring in danger of collapse. Therefore, the plans include elimination of four plants, moving 6 thousand. people to other mines and cover for redundant – at the expense of approx. 2.3 billion zł. According to the board KW, further extraction of the four mines that are to be transferred to the Company Restructuring of Mines, is economically unjustified.
