JSW (JSW) estimates total production this year to 16.44 million tonnes (compared to 13.9 million tonnes in the previous year), despite the effects of fire in the mine Knurów- Szczygłowice, informed the JSW President Jerzy Borecki. It is expected that it will reduce the unit cost of production.

He explained that the fire was the result of complete exclusion from the production of one the walls of the mine and a delay in the launch of the newly prepared wall where mining was to begin in the second quarter of this year.

The company expects the unit cost of coal production this year will be reduced.

In 2014. JSW produced 13.9 million tons of coal (including 9.9 million tonnes of coking coal and 4 , 0 million tons of coal for energy purposes). Unit cost of coal production amounted to 353.22 zł / t.
