The mood of the farmers are the worst of the two and a half years – alerts “Pulse of Business”.
GUS examined at the end of last year, what farmers think about their situation. According to the farmers, it was wrong for the entire second half of last year. Pessimism also lurks the forecasts for the first half of this year.
“This is primarily from a decline in the profitability of agricultural production, particularly in procurement prices of fruits and vegetables, milk, canola, and in the end of last year, the pig” – calculates Dariusz Winek, chief economist at Bank BGZ.
According to experts, so bad mood in the country is largely due to the loss of the eastern markets. Russian embargo on agricultural and food manufacturers strongly affected – particularly fruit growers, dairy and meat industry.
The farmers themselves admit that the biggest barriers to their business were too high prices of means of production and too low prices of agricultural products produced .
