Sierra Gorda mine is owned by a joint venture, whose shareholders are indirect subsidiary of KGHM Polish Copper – Quadra FNX Mining (55 percent.), Sumitomo Metal Mining (31.5 per cent.) and Sumitomo Corporation (13.5 percent.).
Recently, representatives of KGHM reported that the Sierra Gorda in the start-up of the mine reached 75 percent. production capacity, and is on the right path to the end of the second quarter to end ramp-up.
