This is definitely an exceptional season for the Polish fruit growers. Preliminary estimates of over 3.5 million tons of harvested apples. It’s close to four hundred thousand tons more than last year.
According to experts abundant season is the result of modern and professional orchards that have higher yields. In addition, weather conditions that prevail in the current year conducive to high harvest.
For consumers, this means more choice apples at a lower price – experts argue. The problem, however, have the producers. In connection with the Russian embargo on nearly 500,000 tons of apples may not be a market.
At the same time, the European Commission suspended support for Polish farmers because of the “revaluation” the amount of loss by the Ministry of Agriculture.
