Trade unions: a chance for agreement ws. Kazimierz-Juliusz – Business Pulse

The unions are demanding, among others, extend the life of the mine, which was to cease production at the end of September. On Saturday, a group of miners broke the run from Wednesday in Kazimierz-Juliusz underground protest and waiting for the results of the discussions. The meeting on the future of pracwników began on Saturday after hours. 16 in the Silesian Voivodship Office. At the talks were representatives from the Ministry of Economy and the Prime Minister’s Office.

Vice-President of the Trade Union of Miners Poland Waclaw Czerkawski described the talks as “very stormy”. “But we are at a stage that as long as there is a chance to make a deal with” – he stressed.

In his opinion, the proposals made during negotiations are very “realistic”, but you need to be refined to the last detail. According Czerkawski, each party uses in the negotiations “serious arguments” and there is a chance that “they will lead to the signing of a tripartite agreement the government-employers-unions.”

When asked, when it can be estimated that if the parties do not come much into details, the conversation should end today. otherwise may take up to Sunday evening.

Stephen Kasińki from the compound August ’80 said that if the results of the talks is not happy, but – as noted – is just the beginning of the meeting. Neither the union refused to reveal details of the negotiations. “We’ll go out to the country, once everything is agreed” – said Kasiński.

The meeting also involved, among others, deputy ministers of economy and Jerzy Tomasz Tomczykiewicz Petrovich and Jan Krzysztof Bielecki – representing the Prime Minister’s Office. There came a break to journalists.

A few hours before the meeting Petrovich assured that the fate of the miners of Kazimierz-Juliusz is not compromised. He believes that there are several possibilities extinction facility, including exchanged for bankruptcy and liquidation or transfer of the mine to another company or a search for a buyer. He repeated to ensure that miners are guaranteed employment in the structure of KHW (KHW).

Kazimierz-Juliusz is a subsidiary of KHW and the last active coal mine in the Basin Dabrowski. The miners, who began a protest demanding, among others, the payment of salary arrears, on Friday got some overdue payments. Other requests an extension of the life of the mine site and the purchase of flats – after complete exhaustion of coal and termination of the mine – the transition to other plants KHW on the existing conditions.

Management KHW repeatedly declared that all miners – approx. Thousand people – find employment in other establishments holding.
