Burglar bank started publishing the data – Banker

A hacker who managed a few months ago to enter the system PlusBank, began publishing captured data in this way. The Bank does not bend under pressure cyberszantażysty and it seems another message.

 

Last week we wrote about the burglary to PlusBank. Recall that the hacker demanded from institutions Razor 200 thousand. zł ransom in exchange for refraining from disclosing information acquired at the break. To confirm that the incident actually took place burglar put on the internet about the history of transactions and products related to one of the accounts. At the weekend the network was to be placed another piece of information.

 

Hacker meet the threat

 

Yesterday, after a 23 hour service “Trusted Third Party”, which was the first published information about the burglary and who had contact with the hacker posted the entry, which reported that the burglar fulfilled his threat. At the forum acting on the Tor network statement appeared hacker and a link to the file containing the data of 500 business clients PlusBank. They contain, among others, personal details, contact details, information on accounts with balances and transaction data with payment cards.

 

Burglar reported that the bank has not tried to contact him and at the same time proposes that the institution has paid 200 thousand. zł for the charity, which has a stop further leaks. Hacker plans every week to present the next portion of this information.


 

Bank announces – we will not negotiate

 

This morning, the bank sent a message to the media, which again indicates that client money is safe. “The case, which according to media reports is an historic event, the attack took place a few months ago, and the Bank’s response was immediate: systems have been strengthened and additionally secured. In the face of strong resistance PlusBank, criminals currently accepted method of blackmail, extortion attempt involving the Bank’s quota cash in exchange for not distribute information in the media about the incident. PlusBank is of the opinion that the security and reputation of the Bank’s customers are the top priority, therefore, with people openly breaking the law, whose activities are aimed against the Bank and its customers, was not conducting any negotiations, ” – reads the information.

 

PlusBank also announces that it is working with law enforcement agencies and the Financial Supervision Authority and the Polish Bank Association. “We are confident that the tough stance of the Bank, as well as strengthening the security systems in the field of prevention related to IT security, operations Prosecutor’s Office and the Police and other institutions, will lead in the near-term offenders to justice,” – noted in a statement.
