The National Labour Inspectorate data shows that every fourth term agreement has been concluded for at least three years. As emphasized in an interview with IAR spokeswoman Inspection Danuta Rutkowska, some fixed-term contracts were concluded on 10 or even 20 years. Results of the inspection indicate that fixed-term contracts account for over 13 percent of the contracts for a specified period. Most often such contracts are signed in plants manufacturing, trade and services and, quite often, in education.
The current provisions of the Labour Code does not regulate the period for which the contract may be concluded for a fixed term – draws attention to the inspector Rutkowska. Emphasizes that the high scale employment under fixed-term contracts exceeding five years indicates that consideration requires the introduction of a maximum period for which it may be concluded that the type of employment contract with the employee with the same employer.
