A few days ago the media circulated images of the new campaign, the company producing the world-famous drink. On one of the posters under the slogan “choose happiness instead of the tradition of” gay placed a couple with a child. This incensed PiS deputies who urge a boycott of Coca-Cola. The problem is that these billboards appear only in the Netherlands.
Activists could mislead organization Pro Christianis that on your profile placed on communities photo montage with Polish subtitles. Photomontage quickly gained popularity on the internet and do not have to wait long for comments. Stanislaw fifth of Justice wrote on Twitter: “Have not we witnessed such a manifest contempt for Christianity, the family and the dignity of the child. Coca-Cola = shame. (…) Once the Coca-Cola brand was normal, free world, today degenerating link selfishness and objectification of the child “. To boycott also wants to join the Fronde. Editors even suggested that the company was selling its drinks only in a degenerate countries.
The company does not want to comment on all this confusion. In a special statement it is limited only to find that he hopes that consumers respect the values and life choices of each individual.
It is not the first attempt to organize a nationwide boycott by right-wing circles. They already tried to initiate several and they always ended in nothing.
Lidl urged a boycott of Catholic website Fronda.pl, accusing the retail chain skipping commercials in pre-holiday Christmas Christian character. Lidl replied that respects religious and cultural traditions – but the ads relate not only to Christmas. The action did not result in a decrease in the checkout times on the network.
Part of believers customers are not pleased, too, that Empik hired for commercials Adam Darskiego, better known as Nergal, and Maria Czubaszek. This time it was their expression in matters of faith and morals.
Initially, the calls for boycott of Empik resulted in a rapid increase in polubień profile on Facebook “I do not do Christmas shopping in Empik”. However, after reaching approximately 34 thousand. “Lajków” their growth inhibited. Also decreased the activity of people on the Internet calling for a boycott.
Examples of recent Polish consumer boycotts show clearly that companies do not have to be afraid. Recently there was much to boycott the beer brand Ciechan, who tried to initiate a left-wing activists and supporters of LGBT movement – it was about opposition to the statements of the owner of the brewery. However, beer sales did not fall.
The most spectacular example is, however, a matter boycott by Reserved. Unlike other boycotts, stemming from their ideological, here it was about economics. In January of this year, customers did not like that the owner of the brand is trying to move their operations abroad – which was considered an attempt to evade taxes.
The sound boycott Reserved involved tens of thousands of people, but after a few months it turned out, that the company recorded during the boycott significant increase in turnover – almost a third.
