The 40 million PLN Polish Railway Lines remodeling 4 platforms at the station Poznan Square. After the renovation, passengers will enjoy newly renovated, fully-equipped platforms and underground passage with three additional lifts. Increase the functionality of one of the biggest railway stations in Poland, which annually handles several million passengers.
The renovated platforms will be higher than the previous ones, making it easier to get on the train. PLK took care that the historic shelter in a renovated form not only gave shelter to travelers, but also decorated the station. Information about departures and arrivals of trains will be passengers passed through the array system dynamic passenger information, which will be re-installed after construction is finished.
The modernization of the railway infrastructure at the station Poznan Main includes the renovation not only of platforms 4a, 4, 5 and 6, as well as the modernization of a tunnel beneath them. PLK equip it with additional 3 lifts leading to the platforms, which will facilitate getting on them elderly, the disabled, and with heavy luggage. In addition, the tunnel will be installed monitoring, which will increase the safety of travelers. Renovated will track within the station, crossovers and catenary.
The modernization western part of the station began in mid-October of last year and will be completed in the third quarter of 2017. The contractor is the company Torpol and their cost is about 40 million zł gross. These measures come from the state budget and PKP PLK SA.
In addition to the investment PLK on the new railway station in Poznan on platforms 1, 2 and 3 will be installed escalators. PKP SA recently announced another tender for the investment, as reported here.
After the completion of passengers using the station Poznan Central will have at their disposal a total of 9 renovated and fully equipped platforms. 5 platform on the east side were renovated before Euro 2012.
