Lithuania: He began work liquefied natural gas terminal in Klaipeda – Dziennik.pl

Mantas Bartuszka expressed the hope that the operation of the terminal in the first year to convince customers of its efficiency and – consequently – the possibilities multiply operation.

Floating LNG terminal – a special ship installations for the storage, handling and regasification of liquefied natural gas. In August last year, the state-owned LitGas Lithuanian Norwegian Statoil signed a contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). For now, the agreement provides for the supply of 540 million cubic meters of gas per year.

Thanks gazoportowi Lithuania becomes much less dependent on supplies from Russia’s Gazprom, increases its energy security and is more likely to negotiate with the Russian company lower prices.
