Lithuania launched an LNG terminal in Klaipeda – Kresy.pl

The floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Thursday working in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda.

In the month of December have received from you 3 379,00 zł , and the need for continued operation of the 20 000,00 zł .

We’ve collected so only 16,90% required money for our continued operation.

Terminal “Independence”, built in South Korea, is in fact a special ship with installations for storage, transhipment and liquefied regazyfikazji , fitting in transmission. The latter is provided by the Norwegian Statoil, under contract for the annual supply of 540 million cubic meters.

According to the president of the company Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil) Mantas Bartuszka terminal starts to work as a regular source of gas for Lithuania. Is confident that within a year fail to show gas market, it is a good investment, which could multiply operations.

The Lithuanian authorities point out that this solution is less dependent on supplies of blue fuel from Russia. According to the assurances, the terminal is intended to cover up to 90% of the demand for gas in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
