Bieńkowska minimum wage in Germany: These regulations … – GazetaPrawna.pl

European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Bieńkowska Elizabeth said she protested against these regulations already 17 states of the Commonwealth. She added that in the future will be taken clearly conclusive decision as to whether the German regulations are in line with European legislation.

Elizabeth Bieńkowska assured that the European Commission very seriously approached the case and deal with it primarily Commissioner for Transport and the Commissioner responsible for employment. She said she asked the Commission sent the German government in January, giving a short time for a response. This has come and is now analyzed.

European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services did not want to speculate whether German law will be challenged. Considered, however, that these regulations – as stated – “look quite dangerous for the common market”.

The German regulations on minimum wage hit in particular Polish transport companies. According to them, the current solution infringes the freedom to provide services, which is set forth in Article 56 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. German law may also be incompatible with some EU regulations on the availability of coach and bus services.
