One per cent tax: for and against – Polish Radio

Part of taxpayers accounted for by the employer, or – in the case of pensioners – the PIT-y accounted for ZUS or KRUS. Some taxpayers do not have obligations to the tax office deduction because they have children, higher than the tax.

Those taxpayers who provide one percent talk about their sense that they are doing something good, something which is important for those organizations that receive support.

Most money goes to well-known organizations that support children, caring for animals, or charitable activities. Relatively little support given these local organizations from small towns.

“Small amounts do not matter”

One of the reasons why people do not pass percentage of tax may be convinced that small amounts do not matter – according to research Klon-Jawor. Dorothy Setniewska from the Association argues that it is a myth, because the organization of any amount, even if small, is important, especially when multiplied by the number of consecutive depositors.

Dorothy Setniewska stresses that one percent can pass all taxpayers clearing individually – even those extracting retirement. This requires them to re-fill PIT form and send to the tax office already accrued one percent tax.

Klon Jawor notes that among nieprzekazujących 1% is a lot of research indicating that they do not want in this way to curtail their income. Meanwhile, the tax bill and so you have to pay 100% – the taxpayer has the right to decide to allocate only 1% of this sum.

The list of more than 8,000 non-profit organization, eligible for payments 1 percent is at www.bazy.ngo.pl or www.pozytek.gov.pl
