PKO BP explains the fee increases – Business portal wnp.pl

Last fall, Paul Szałamacha, finance minister suggested that PKO BP can benefit increases that will bring other banks in connection with the bank tax and take over part of the customers.

– The current changes in the structure of the fees will not lead to increased costs for customers with active use of modern services offered by PKO Polish Bank. Introduced as every year, the changes are not in any way related to the bank tax – explains Jacek Obłękowski, Executive Vice President of PKO BP responsible for the area of ​​Retail Banking.

As the bank said in an official statement on changes in the schedule of fees and charges shall be gradually reduced. In the past 5 years, the bank reported a decline in net commission income of 323 million zł, and the margin commission charged from clients fell by an average of 1.76 per cent. to 1.04 percent.

The decision on increases was made in December 2015 and provides the bank’s management does not has nothing to do with the introduction of a bank tax. The changes apply to about 20 percent. bank customers, and their aim is to promote new, more favorable cost products, electronic banking and non-cash payments (eg. IKO).

– Changes in the tariff of fees and charges are routine in the business process of each bank. They are used to adapt the services provided to the customers’ preferences and the current market situation. Changes are made on average once a year, as a result of market analysis, competitive offer of PKO Polish Bank. In 2011 it took place in November, 2012 – September, 2013 – August, 2014 – in October, and in 2015 May. In 2016, a change in the tariff will come into force on 1 May – the release reads.

The current change is not related to tax assets introduced by the Act of January 15, as changes in previous years were not dictated by tax regulations. The resolution of the bank concerning its introduction has been taken in December of 2015.

PKO Polish Bank is not planning the introduction of further changes in the tariff this year.

PKO Polish Bank serves 8.8 million individual customers. These changes slightly primary concern now offer addressed to the customers: the most popular personal accounts and debit cards and mortgage loans and cash loans.

According to the currently planned changes focus primarily on services, which have their equivalents available free of charge, among others, promoted channels in the context of electronic banking or mobile. They are designed to encourage customers to take advantage of the current proposals for a bank product, which can cause a drop in rates or even lack their collection. Examples include: the abolition of fees for the use of electronic banking for already withdrawn from the offer accounts graffiti, SUPERKONTO and the student.

In addition, the bank wants to encourage all customers holding a phone to use mobile banking IKO, which allows current to check the bank balance and perform many transactions completely free of charge.
