The solution for the whole Polish mining industry – Nasz Dziennik

Polish Mining Group is a fact, we can say that the end crowns the work, but it would probably considerable simplification, because the road to this agreement was not easy. With what was the biggest problem?

– The biggest problem was a reliable diagnosis of the current situation and determine the difficulties faced by the Polish mining industry. The results of inspections, audits were very exploded in their assessments. Some – even as the previous management Coal Company – saying that everything is just fine, others on the contrary defines the state as disastrous. In this situation, a reliable audit was the breeding ground, because to take up the reforming, you must know the ground on which it stands. The second issue concerned the conviction of the miners to give up part of their income, which was not easy. There were discussions, mass production, to develop the necessary compromise.

If there is an agreement, as is the decision to set up a Polish Mining Group, it means that a compromise was reached. What are the prospects and what the most urgent task now stand before PGG?

– The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Beaty Awl, which proves that the Polish government attaches to this project high priority and that the current government depends on the success of this project. However, all we know probably aware of the fact that the agreement itself will not solve all the problems. It is necessary to wise management PGG. I hope that will be selected right team, the right management board, which will ensure the rational development of the largest mining company, employing more than 32,000 people and escapes approx. 8-10 million tons of coal per year. Wise management is also finding new markets, because the current state of little can be done, and actually nothing. You also must have in mind to customers searching for, do not spoil the market for other mining companies, and so JSW, the Katowice holding company having coal or other mines of Silesia. It must be, and we believe that it will be a good solution for the whole Polish mining industry, and not just for one company. It will be the largest coal company in the European Union and the need to do everything so that its size was not her only asset.

Until now, the problem was external companies that moved out a large part of the profits. What is changing at the moment of the creation of PGG?

– First of all, changing optics – Polish authorities look at this or at any rate an important branch of the Polish economy, which has been heavily neglected. Now there is a chance that it will be suitable board, which as I said will determine the facts of the Polish mining industry, it will work. After all, these companies are working people. This is of course a process, but I hope that by the end of this year all will be revealed.

What’s in the near term should be done, what is the most pressing need to PGG could move on?

– First of all you need to communicate with the miners, and the second thing – as I have said, the search for markets outside the Polish third and perhaps the most important thing – to choose the right team that will manage the company. There is a chance that PGG it will be a modern entity, competitive, which will connect the Polish technical thought of the honest work of miners for the good of all of us, for the good of the Polish economy.

Premier Beata Szydlo said that if not for negligence the last eight years, now the road development of the Polish mining industry would be simpler and easier …

– definitely yes. There is a chance that the current perception of the mining industry will change, and the road across the mining industry in the direction of development, and not stagnate, as it was before, will be simpler and easier. We realize that it will not happen immediately after the signing of the agreement, but let’s say two, three or four years we will start to go straight. Unfortunately, there was a time when you could do it earlier, but the previous government wasted chances. Let me remind you that the agreement with the trade unions has been broken by the government coalition – PSL, who cheated and deceived us all Poles, buying himself time and only so-called. peace of mind. Therefore took our troubles. It looks like the outstanding debt – if he does not repay the installments, the interest grow. With the situation in the Polish mining industry is similar.

How will refer you to the already emerging criticism that the Polish mining industry is being reformed at the expense of the taxpayer?

– It’s not true. First, the mining industry is also a taxpayer, the proceeds to the state budget are quite considerable. Second, if the mining industry today requires state aid, is to blame for this state of affairs does not bear the miners, but I mentioned the PO – PSL, which for eight years pretended that governs Polish, in fact harming. Where then they were those who today is wymądrzają and try to criticize or maybe simply applauded actions of the governments of Prime Ministers Tusk and Health Minister. In addition, state aid to save jobs is nothing new in the EU, eg. In Italy and not only there. If there is a chance that the company has bounced back and began to function properly, keeping jobs and supplying the state budget, then why should it not be her support. It’s nothing wrong, on the contrary, it should be in the country properly functioning and well-managed, where the first place is to care for the domestic economy, and not taking care of foreign interests.

Earlier you mentioned the fact that the agreement also implies renunciation of mining – what exactly?

– In short, the miners for the good of the Republic, because as it should be established, agreed to reduce their salaries and the suspension of payments of the annual award.

you admit that the statement for the good of the Republic sounded very lofty …

– But it’s true. But if Coal Company was liquidated, if the mines ceased to exist, then we would have to buy coal abroad, which would mean the dependence of the state, Polish energy supplies from outside. It seems that the implementation of just such a scenario aimed previous ruling Polish team. The idea was to import coal, so we had a shady agreements concluded with the EU, which puts us now in a very difficult situation.

You probably realize that not only the government but also trade unions they take responsibility for the future and development of the mining industry in Poland?

– the responsibility of trade unions is the responsibility of the miners, who together create this industry. Trade unions must also reckon with the fact that the failure of this project and the entire coal industry could mean the loss of members. But not the union position is in question, but for jobs people on whose behalf we act. It was not easy to convince people to make sacrifices and once again trust the ruling, the more that the previous government shamelessly tricked us. Now we want to all the trouble of people do not go to waste.

As of May 1 mines Coal Company assume PGG, it remains only to wish the miners, “God bless you” …

– Thank you. We accept these wishes for granted, we pray and entrust the affairs of Providence Polish mining industry, our future. At the same time as the unions we do not stop at the promises of rulers and now we will see if things are going in the right direction. We will also put pressure on the government to pull accountable all those who are in such a terrible situation left the Polish mining industry. It can not be that presidents – who led the company to disaster, left with huge severance, obłowili, and the people who worked honestly, now they have to give up part of their salaries. This is a scandal.

Except that over those presidents who – as you say – a obłowili were still government authorities …

– Of course, speaking about settlements I mean not only those who are physically managed the coal companies, but everyone, including those who ruled the Polish leading harmful policies, and not only in this area. This de facto they brought Polish mining industry to a state of collapse. I think that these people are aware of the evil that caused the Polish mining industry and our entire economy, and now trying to avoid responsibility, run all the European termagant, which has guaranteed them immunity and safe landing. These their current activities are also another aim, namely to drown and deceive the public that it supposedly they are not guilty. Now they’re trying to pass social accents on the alleged threat to democracy or violation of the Constitution, while they themselves are guilty of bringing to the bankruptcy of the entire Polish economy.

Thank you.
