The Ministry of the Environment (ME) proposes to amend the rules for charging for felling. Currently this rate is dependent mainly on the circumference of the tree. And it will depend on its location and the growth rate of the trunk (its thickness). Resort distinguished four locations. The most you will pay for felling of areas spas, national monuments and the lane on the road. The second concerns the conversion of green areas, three cities, and the fourth – the lowest – in rural areas.

– The highest tree replacement costs are in areas where both the aesthetic and ecological are essential. Moreover, due to the fact that the environment of roads and squares are places of concentration of nuisance urbanization, wherein reproduction of trees creates difficulties also accepted the higher the value – explains Ministry.

– One of the key factors determining the value of trees is their size, which depends on the growth rate. Trees growing rapidly require a shorter period of care and thus less effort to maintain them. The proposed fee will be lower by more than 1 thousand. zł. Most people will gain planning felling eg. A very slow growing fir trees (circumference 100 cm), which grows in the open – instead of more than 160 thousand. zł pay 45 thousand. zł.

The higher the fee will be felling in the cities in the case of plants, whose circumference is 30-55 cm. In the case of maple or chestnut (50 cm circumference) increase of 1 thousand. to 1.4 thousand. zł.

Owners of real estate, who intend to remove the tree for purposes unrelated to business, are exempt from the fee. They must instead apply for a permit from the municipality. Cutout tree without such consent results in an administrative penalty, which is twice the fee.

Proceeds from fees for felling trees and administrative penalties for felling without permission reach annually approx. 170 million zł.
