Morawiecki: it is better for Poland would not enter now into the Euro zone – Onet.pl

“At this level of convergence, in the context of optimal monetary zones ( … ), probably better for us not to enter the Euro zone”, – he said.

“maybe if everything goes great, within 5-10 years. We all have responsibilities, and we understand that. But the lack of convergence indicates a huge risk in the context of the so-called optimal monetary zone”, – he added. The rating despite the fact that the Eurozone is not an optimal currency area.

“Some say that we should enter the Euro zone, but on the other hand, the question of whether the Euro zone is a part of the solution, or part of the problem? When looking at the Euro zone, more and more economists – contrary to what was said a few years ago – says that this is really an area that is part of the problem, not the solution," he said.

“we are now in the era of the great nierównowag. We are looking for a new normal world. What we see currently, this kind of imbalance, far from optimality. We need to find a new equilibrium level. We, the countries of Central Europe, we must be part of the solution, not the problem", he added.
