Union Agreement – the United States? The idea is great! – Interia

– European companies, including LOT, could be much to gain from the signing and implementation of the Agreement on Transatlantic Partnership in Trade and Investment between EU and USA – rated in a conversation with the president in Sopot EFNI LOT Sebastian Mikosz.

The purpose of TTIP is the creation of a free trade between the United States and the European Union, and to facilitate mutual investment. Negotiations on ongoing since 2013., And the contract involves the elimination of customs duties, administrative and regulatory barriers that impede trade and investment between the EU and the USA.

Mikosz noted that TTIP is still under negotiation and not know it , which ultimately will be in the contract. He pointed out, however, that during the recent visit of an American Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker entrepreneurs mentioned, which would be huge for them easier.

– I hope TTIP will focus on several areas and will be negotiated. On this agreement would benefit all European companies. I can confirm that LOT would certainly has profited, if the agreement will include provisions to facilitate mutual investment and mutual trade – said the head of the LOT.

The Ministry of Economy has rated recently that air transport is one of the sectors that could benefit from signing the contract TTIP between the EU and the USA. An example of such. – Agreement on free trade and investment between the EU and the USA (TTIP) can be a great opportunity for the EU and a challenge for Russia and China – said the PAP during EFNI in Sopot, Jacek Krawczyk, President of the Employers’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee.

In Sopot deliberates 4th European Forum for New Ideas (EFNI). He takes part in it approx. 1,000 leading representatives of business, politics, science and culture of the Polish and the world. By Friday will analyze the biggest challenges which face the EU.

Krawczyk, who is the rapporteur for the EESC opinion ws. TTIP, believes that in Poland, little is said about the agreement; expressed satisfaction that his support for the Prime Minister announced in the expose Ewa Kopacz. TTIP is negotiated between the EU and the USA since June last year.

– I think that TTIP is a great opportunity for all Member States (EU), including Polish, so that the possibility of creating such a great common market give us an advantage over all other for a long, long time. I think the situation in which the TTIP is signed, it is a great challenge for Russia and China – said Krawczyk.

As noted, in Europe, “some turmoil started to certain elements of TTIP-u”. – To hear the voices of NGOs (non-governmental organizations – PAP), also in Poland, these are the voices (…) nonembedded the realities of TTIP-u – rated. These organizations consider, inter alia, that the TTIP threatens to lower our standards in the field of environmental protection in Europe.

Krawczyk gave the example of his mission in Washington a few months ago ws. TTIP, during which the largest American environmental organization indicated, he did not want TTIP, because it European environmental regulations are too weak.

He noted that the TTIP will be the first international agreement which will include a chapter on small and medium-sized businesses. – This is not the case, because in the original scope of TTIP was not in this chapter. But I think that in the course of work and because of the involvement of the various participants in the process, we all agreed that it is not only necessary, but it is necessary, because the TTIP creates opportunities for small and medium-sized companies – explained.

He pointed out that the elimination of bureaucratic barriers and standardization in trade between the EU and the United States significantly reduce costs for SMEs and increase their participation in the course. “Secondly, if we are able to open certain markets, such as public procurement market based on the digital economy, it can become a very interesting direction of development” – he said. He pointed out that today the European public procurement market is much more open to Americans than vice versa.

– If we are able to compensate for the level of access, but for us it could mean a very high potential to increase turnover – he noted.

– I do not think TTIP was a threat to us, I think, on the contrary. Polish small and medium-sized enterprises are really dynamic, modern – he stressed. He explained that the TTIP envisages the construction of a common base of information that will enable SMBs to obtain information about specific projects and markets.

In his opinion, in Poland it is the small and medium-sized businesses will benefit probably the most on the contract TTIP, but Poland will benefit greatly if released energy trade with the United States. – If you liberate some energy trade market with TTIP-these, the Poland can only benefit from the TTIP – he stressed. The point is of LNG imports from the USA.

In addition, Krawczyk pointed out that the TTIP would be “commercial-market part of the transatlantic agreement”, including NATO. – We would also common market between Europe and the United. It all together builds a new quality – summed up.

Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership – TTIP) implies the elimination of customs duties, administrative and regulatory barriers that impede trade and investment between the EU and the USA.
