Polish drivers will not get 8.5 euro per hour – SE.pl

Deputy Mateusz Morawiecki said that the minimum wage rate of 8.5 euro per hour will not apply in the case of Polish drivers transiting through Germany. It’s a big relief for transport companies, but not for drivers themselves.

Such assurance received from the Vice-Chancellor of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel.

– We talked about a minimum rate for our drivers, transport companies, which enter with their goods to Germany. I got information here, when it comes to transit, eg. From Polish into French or from Polish to Austria or Belgium, then here will not be used. On the other hand, when it comes to hourly minimum in the case of transport to Germany, the Germans want to use them – said Mateusz Morawiecki after a meeting in Berlin with Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.

According to our Deputy Prime Minister, such a solution is better than taking high as per our terms of hourly rate not only direct transport to Germany, but the entire transit. This is a very heavy burden on our transport companies, which represent the second largest fleet in Europe.
