Piotr Naimski said that the priority of the current administration is a combination of the deposits on the Norwegian shelf. This investment is at the stage of preliminary arrangements. Both at the level of Heads of State and Government, as well as transmission system operators.

The concept of building a gas terminal was presented on 22 May 2006. President Lech Kaczynski during the session of the National Security Council.

The LNG terminal in Swinoujscie is one of the most important elements of building the country’s energy independence and diversification of sources of gas – emphasizes Gaz-System.

The first commercial supply of gas from Qatar

On Friday, the terminal received the first commercial cargo ship with liquefied gas. Raw material supply ship “Al-Nuaman”, who had already participated in a technology start-up in Swinoujscie. The ship brought more than 200,000 meters of liquefied gas. After the so-called re-gasification, or a change in the liquid on the volatile, it will be about 120 million cubic meters of blue fuel. Unloading of raw material will last about a day.

Every year the terminal in Swinoujscie may take 5 billion cubic meters of gas. Coordinators construction, namely the representatives of Gaz-System ensure that it is thanks to the determination of President Lech Kaczynski started preparations for the construction of the gas terminal.

According to Polish LNG in the world it is about 100 terminals to receive liquefied natural gas. Most of them in Japan. In Europe, 23 operate such installations.

“LNG terminal improves energy independence Polish”

The deputy head of the Polish Oil and Gas Company, Janusz Kowalski points out that the LNG terminal will improve energy independence Polish. According to him, the country for the first time in history opens on the gas from a different direction than the East. Janusz Kowalski talks about the first step to build in Poland and in Central Europe a competitive gas market.

President of the Polish Oil and Gas Company, Piotr Wozniak believes, however, that despite the launch of the terminal, Poland is still exposed to the gas crises similar to those of 2006 and 2009. In his view, the most it has done in the sphere of trade. Infrastructure still needs investment.

LNG terminal will cover 1/3 of the Polish demand for gas

Energy Expert, Thomas Chmal advises that the gas terminal will cover one third of the Polish demand for blue fuel. Every year, the country consumes about 15 billion cubic meters of gas. The caller advises that PGNiG could bring gas from the western direction, but still it will be a Russian gas. In his opinion, the launch of the LNG terminal will give you a real alternative, because it allows you to import the blue fuel from anywhere in the world.

The expert adds that another important task will be negotiating a new gas contract with Russia. Current expires at the end of 2022 and in his opinion Poland can not be without a contract. Negotiations with the East, in the opinion of the expert, will facilitate the development of gas infrastructure in the country. Terms of both the network transmission, and storage of raw materials.
