Polish exporters of food are struggling with ever higher barriers on the EU market. According to a PricewaterhouseCoopers report, which has been discussed today in the European Parliament. Polish producers most complain of the Czech Republic.
Increased health checks, negative media campaigns or obligation additional certification – are just some of the barriers restricting market access for member countries with which every day must to contend Polish exporters. In a word, it is the destruction of the single market – said Andrzej Grzyb MEP. Meanwhile – as emphasized Andrzej Gantner, head of the Federation of Food Industry – the EU market hits 80 percent of Polish exports. Everything that happens on the Community market, it is for us the basis for the functioning and all the disorders that are present in this market can have disastrous consequences for us – he said.
Gantner added that the country that poses the most problems at present are the Czech. Czechs introduced a number of solutions that significantly make life difficult for both those who try to bring their products to Czech territory, as well as its own entrepreneurs who are trying to import something – he stressed. Representatives of the Polish producers and MEPs hope that the European Commission would react to such a policy and will more effectively than before to counteract protectionism in the European Union.
