The Management Board of Tauron unchanged – Puls Biznesu

The obstacle to rescue the Polish mining industry, which was to manifest an unfavorable offer to buy the mine Brzeszcze – that was the theme of changes in the composition of the Management Board of Tauron, which would make the state treasury. On Friday, it did not work out. As unofficially established the “Puls Biznesu” council did not make any changes to the composition of the board, president Dariusz Lubera and his associates were in the company.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon on Friday Tauron announced that the Treasury appealed Brand Ściążko, one of the members of the supervisory board. Interestingly, he did so by letter dated August 6, ie on Thursday. It is not known whether and who will be appointed in his place. According to the statute, the Supervisory Board of Tauron consists of 5 to 9 members, and the Treasury has the right to appoint and dismiss five of them. An hour later, the stock market got the message that the resignation of Prof. Anthony Tajduś, chairman of the supervisory board, which also nominated the Ministry of the Treasury (Treasury).

The council is now three nominees of the Ministry of Agnieszka Wos (who works in the ministry), Andrew Gorgol and Michael Michalczewski. Independent members are Maciej Horse (director of KGHM, which is 10.4 per cent. Of shares in Tauron), Jacek Szyke, Leszek Koziorowski and Maciej Trybura (president of Ciech).

For our questions about the causes of changes in the composition of Tauron’s supervisory board and whether it will shortly be convened its next meeting – which could take up the changes in the board – SMEs have not responded.

The Statute of Tauron said that the invitation to the meeting of the Supervisory Board must be sent at least 7 days prior to the meeting. For important reasons, the chairman may shorten the period to 2 days.

Recall, on Tuesday evening, Tauron has declared that it will buy the mine Brzeszcze, for 1 zł, in a public tender (due to the risk of recovery of unlawful state aid) and only if the Mine Restructuring Company to restructure it earlier, that is, reduce employment and more flexible wages.
