The difference in pay is a hundred to seven hundred per month – says the report of the Organization. Partly, as suggested by the authors of the document indirectly responsible for this discrimination. If it does not take into account gender, only education, productivity and commitment to work, in many cases, these differences in pay anyway. Another factor is motherhood.
– In Sweden, women earn about four per cent less than men. But if you remove this factor (motherhood), the women earned o12 percent more – explains the BBC World Labour Organization spokeswoman Kristen Sobeck.
In addition, childless women earn more than those who have children. There are also reasons that economists do not understand. In Poland, these differences are relatively small. In the ranking of 30 countries, our country is the fourth largest in terms of equal pay.
The greatest inequalities are observed in the US, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The smallest differences are in Sweden, Lithuania and Slovenia.
