On Twitter Tusk reported that Eurozone leaders meeting will begin at. 16 and will last until the end of negotiations on the agreement of a new aid program for Greece.
Convocation of the EU summit on Sunday, Tusk announced this past Tuesday. The leaders had on him discuss how the situation threatened insolvency of Greece may affect other EU countries. According to commentators, the appeal peak may suggest that there is a chance for agreement with Athens and discussion of the consequences of the bankruptcy of Greece may have to wait.
On Sunday at noon. 11 scheduled debates finance ministers of the euro area (Eurogroup). On Saturday, they failed to reach a consensus.
The ministers have to decide whether to give the green light to start negotiations on a new aid program for Greece. Athens turned up in the past week on support from the European Stability Mechanism in height. 53.5 billion euros over three years, instead proposing reforms, including changes in VAT and pension system.
According to unofficial reports Saturday part of the Eurozone countries recognized that the proposals are not sufficient Athens. Greece requested that guarantee that the promised measures will be implemented. Started agreeing a joint statement, in which Greece would commit to next week set of reforms.
Athens were to disagree, but the problem with the text of the declaration had several other countries, including Finland. Greeks had to agree on reforms relating to the deregulation of certain professions, changes in taxes VAT, reducing the possibility of early retirement, privatization and the introduction of restrictions on monopolies.
The next week, following a decision by the Greek parliament, again Eurogroup would meet to decide to launch negotiations on a new support program.
On Saturday, the strongest against the new aid for Greece was to protest Finland. According to the media in this country forming part of the coalition government eurosceptic True Finns party threatened to break the coalition agreement for concessions to Greece. Finance Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb denied the night from Saturday to Sunday these reports.
