National Road Construction Programme. List of road investments – Money.pl

The total value of National Roads Construction Programme 2023 will exceed $ 100 billion – says Paul Olszewski, deputy head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. The government will adopt the draft in September.

Where did the money?

Deputy Minister wants the Polish Investment and Development (PIR) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) joined in the implementation of road projects. – Sources of funding for such projects are many. In addition to the classical sources of funding – the EU funds, money from the state budget and the National Road Fund – we have additional in the context of, for example, Polish Investment and Development – he stressed.

Olszewski also said that his ministry has prepared draft amendments to the Law on special-purpose road companies. – The project will give us the opportunity to raise funds and build roads on a commercial basis – he noted. He estimated that even in September should the government take care of him.

– We would like to introduce this bill in order to give the opportunity to build roads based not only on the budget and EU funds, but also private money. This project is this possible, we will open a wide range of possibilities for financing investments, which in its current terms could not be implemented due to lack of funding. The program will also include a provision concerning these sources of financing and investment that could be implemented in this formula – he stressed.

In the new EU financial perspective for the construction of modern roads the government wants to allocate 93 zł billion. The money will come from national and EU funds. At the maintenance and management of roads in the years 2014-2023, MIR identified expenses from the state budget of approx. 48.7 billion zł. With this money is to be financed preparatory work, repairs, maintenance and reconstruction of roads, as well as projects aimed at improving road safety. Still works are carried out within the framework of national road construction program for 2011-2015. Limit spending on their implementation is 14.5 billion zł.
