Naspers wants to sell Allegro. Chinese companies are interested – Republic

Naspers, an international media company based in Cape Town, South Africa, hired Morgan Stanley, which is advising the potential transaction – reports Bloomberg, citing anonymous informants.

Sellers Allegro can give Napster $ 3 billion, including debt of the company. The most interested in buying the service to be private equity firms and technology companies, including China. Media have speculated that it may be a Chinese tycoon Internet commerce Alibaba, but there is no confirmed information about the buyer.

Naspers began to wonder about the sale of Allegro after the potential buyers have expressed interest in Allegro. Value Allegro is not growing as fast as other companies belonging to the South African company and it is the basic cause of deliberations sales service – says Bloomberg wrote that the transaction is very likely.

The process is in the initial phase and at the moment there is no guarantee that the sale will go through – source Bloomberg reported.

Naspers is worth nearly 67 billion dollars, mainly due to investments in Internet companies in emerging markets (eg. in the Chinese Tencent Holdings is a group of Russian Mail.ru) .
