Copper Copper Canadian company operating in the vicinity of Nowa Sol, Poland plans to build in the copper mines. In 10 years, wants to invest in the project about 15 billion zł – said company president Lyle Braaten.

“We in Poland 11 exploration licenses and four years spent on the search for nearly 150 million zł. Already signed a contract for drilling amounts to more nearly 60 million zł. This amount may increase if it is completed dispute concerning conferred on us – and received – exploration licenses, “- said the head of the Copper Copper.

In the middle of last year, the Ministry of the Environment has withdrawn its earlier decision to grant the company two concessions for exploration of copper in Lubuskie. Copper Copper, however, appealed against this decision to the Administrative Court. The first meeting on this matter was to be held April 10 this year., But for procedural reasons has been postponed.

Braaten stressed that his company has more ambitious plans for our country. “Implemented by our investment program envisages the construction near Nowa Sol copper mine. This is a very ambitious plan, which will have a positive impact on the entire Polish economy and generate thousands of new jobs,” – he stressed.

“We plan within 10 years to spend on this project to 15 billion zł “- he said.

Braaten pointed out that the implementation of Copper Copper plans will mean that in the same mine will employ up to 8 thousand. people, and another several thousand rise in its surroundings.

“This is a very long-term project – we plan that the extraction will start in approx. 10 years. But to make this possible, we must now focus on further exploration, the estimation of reserves and the construction of shafts. It takes a lot of time and costs a lot, “- he said.

He added that his company has not yet gathered enough data to accurately determine the size of the copper deposits located in areas wherein manipulated. “Before we give specific numbers, we need to make even more research. I think at the end of next year we will know the size of the copper deposits in the area Nowa Sol. If they confirm our assumptions will be able to proceed with the substantial part of the investment, which is building the mining complex” – pointed .

Braaten noted that some problem for the profitability of the investment is planned by the Polish government introduced a tax on mineral resources. “When I first showed up in Poland tax on minerals it was not.
