PKP Intercity prepared approx. 280 thousand. seats on trains for participants of World Youth Day – told PAP spokeswoman Beata Czemerajda company. Pilgrims can also take advantage of a special ticket.

“Preparations for World Youth Day in the company covered every area of ​​operation of the carrier. Most work has gone into the preparation of rolling stock, the offer and securing additional support for travel “- said Czemerajda. She added that during the peak of arrivals and departures every 7 minutes from Krakow Railway Station will be pulled away train PKP Intercity.

The company will handle the 46 warehouses special, which was commissioned by the diocese . Czemerajda announced that during the WYD, the company will have approx. 1,300 cars and 60 sets of EMUs (Pendolino, Flirt, Dart). From Czech Railways lent 40 extra carriages.

The carrier also increased the availability of trains. In practice this means that eg. The train, which traditionally does not operate at night, during the WYD pilgrims will be hauled at night, and the day will continue handling their traditional routes. Also, 20 trains that run every day, eg. From Szczecin – Katowice, will go on an extended relationship to Krakow, instead of just to Katowice.

PKP Intercity has also prepared a special offer for World Youth Day Ticket – personal pass, which already can be purchased at the online sales system. It allows three runs trains of the company TLK and IC category. You will be able to use it from 16 July to 15 August. For each of the three runs, which entitles the ticket, the passenger will have to download a free seat reservation in the online ticketing system.

Czemerajda stressed that the carrier accelerated periodic inspections, repairs and modernization of wagons and locomotives. This year, a number of studies have been done earlier – instead of in July, wagons went to workshops in May and June.

The major railway stations will be prepared reserve train – additional wagons and locomotives, in the event of increased attendance to date reinforce trains.
