GUS: 8.5 percent. unemployment in August – the pulse of the Business

In July, the unemployment rate was 8.6 percent.

At the end of August in the centers of employment of the registered unemployed was 1 million 346,9 thousand UAH. that means that there were less compared to July by 1.1 percent., i.e. 14.6 ths. and in comparison with August last year decreased by 13.9 per cent., that is to 216.6 thousand.

compared with July of the current year, the unemployment rate declined in most provinces (at the 0.1 points per cent.); increased only in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (by 0.1 p percent to 11.6 percent), and in the Opole region, Pomerania and Podlasie – not changed.

in turn, compared with August last year, the unemployment rate decreased in all provinces. Most of all – in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and West Pomeranian Voivodeship (2.2 p per cent.), and to a lesser extent in Opole (0.9 percentage point).

In the structure of registered unemployed the share of women at the end of August of the current year was higher than prior year by 1.1 point of percentage. and was 54.4 per cent. Also increased the share of unemployed without right to benefits (0.1 point percent. up to 86.3 per cent.) and individuals with no qualifications at 0.2 percent. for 30.5 percent). Decreased, and the percentage of people still unemployed (by 1.0 percentage point. to 15.0%). and graduates (by 0.2 points of percentage. to 2.8 percent).

In the corporate sector in August this year worked 5 million 760,7 thousand UAH. people; employment in it was 3.1 percent. more than a year before (against a growth of 3.2 percent. in July of the current year). The most increased employment in management and related activities (9.5 percent). and information and communication (7.6 percent).

In August this year, higher than the average employment growth per year was observed, in particular in companies engaged in furniture manufacturing (6.2 percent), manufacture of metals (by 5.8%), manufacture of articles of rubber and plastics (up 5.6%), ground transport, and rurociągowym (5.5 percent). and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (5.3 percent). Lower than a year ago, employment was recorded by companies engaged in mining of coal and lignite (by 7.4 per cent., after a decline of 13.9 percent. before the year), clothing (2.2 percent), construction projects civil construction (1.9 percent). and construction of buildings (1.1 percent); a slight decrease was recorded also in construction and specialty (0.1%).
