24.02. Gdańsk (PAP) – ARP submitted a request to the Office ws. Control of the company GSG Towers, which will be celebrated together with the Gdańsk Shipyard Group (GSG) – Office reported. It’s part of the plan, which will help to keep jobs in the shipyard and create new ones in GSG Towers.

GSG Towers is owned by the Ukrainian company, which oversees the construction elements of wind towers in areas Gdańsk Shipyard.

This means that instead of the recovery from the GSG (the main shareholder of Gdańsk Shipyard), ARP acquire shares in the subsidiary company GSG – GSG Towers. As explained on Tuesday, “DGP” comes to 103 million zł, which years ago shipyard and its main shareholder received from state agencies.

He noted ARP notification of a concentration is a consequence of the IDA signed in January this year. Investment Framework Agreement with the companies Gdańsk Shipyard Group, GSG Towers and Gdańsk Shipyard. The agreement referred to, inter alia, financial restructuring of group companies Gdańsk Shipyard Group.

As he wrote in January, “Pulse of Business” ARP agreement with companies controlled by Ukrainian investors are allowed to develop the production of wind towers and other marine steel structures.

“We have found a solution that is purely business, and allows saving of Gdańsk Shipyard and jobs. With it maintains the employment of 600 people and jobs will be created for 600 consecutive, in the company GSG Towers” – said Tuesday Treasury Minister Wlodzimierz Karpinski.

“We carry a wide business project that will maintain production at Gdańsk Shipyard, extend the production GSG Towers and revitalize the shipyards. A spokesman for Gdańsk Shipyard Group Jacek Leski PAP estimated that the agreement is a de facto “unlock the possibilities of normal operation and development of the company.”

He said that “the market is promising, although demanding and competitive.” He noted that the production of ships is currently the least profitable part of shipbuilding. He explained that “shipbuilding is not the main idea for the business in the coming years.”

Leski said that the process has started hiring new people to work, mostly professionals welders. As reported, it is planned that 600 new jobs will be created by 2018. It is expected that the effect of this plan will also be a full discharge of debts yard. “It gives us a sense of investing” – he stressed.
