Banks are working to help the people who took out loans in Swiss francs. The final proposed solutions will be presented by 11 March.
In mid-January, when the Swiss Central Bank announced that it releases the currency exchange rate against the euro, was translated into much confusion in the markets and stock exchanges. I immediately felt by the people that are in the Helvetian currency loans because their payments have increased.
The head of the Polish Banks Association Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz said that in this and next week the PBA awaits a series of meetings on this issue – including the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Poland, the FSA-e. He noted that the banks have already taken measures to relieve people who took out loans for housing in Swiss francs.
He mentioned some of them – for example, the introduction of restrictions on installments. In addition, the banks indicated that they withdrew from the supplementary insurance claim these credits, a thawing of a process of restructuring liabilities, if necessary. The idea, for example, to change the calendar or the use of short repayment loan holidays.
Since 2000, our country entered into 770,000 loans in Swiss francs for apartments, of which 210,000 have already been repaid.
