UOKiK agreement on concentration – Węglokoks ROW and Coal Company

OCCP has agreed to purchase the Węglokoks Rybnik Mining District of four mines belonging to Coal Company – Office said on Thursday. He added that the concentration does not lead to a restriction of competition on the market.

“The basis of the notification of intention of concentration is preliminary agreement (signed in early February. – PAP) between Węglokoks ROW and Kompania Węglowa. According to the declaration the applicant for the transaction is to acquire thermal coal resource base. At the same time, it is possible to support the acquired mining plants, including providing the means necessary for their restructuring, and the continued functioning “- said the Office.
This is another decision UOKiK the acquisition by the group Węglokoks mines belonging to KW. Earlier, the Authority agreed to a change of ownership by coal mine and coal mine Bobrek Piekary.
“Analysis of the OCCP showed that the transaction will have no impact on the market of marketing (production and sales and imports) of thermal coal in which they operate taken over the mines. Do not act on it because those belonging to the acquiring company “, – explained the Authority.
In accordance with the provisions of the transaction is subject to notification to the OCCP if it involves enterprises whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded 1 billion worldwide and 50 million in Poland.
Węglokoks ROW is a member of Węglokoks, which deals in wholesale coal and fossil fuels and manufacture of steel products.
Coal Company Capital Group consists of companies, mines and ancillary facilities.
