Poles better cope with debt – Banker

Poles better cope with debt – Banker

At the end of 2014. difficulties in paying was nearly 2.4 million people, and the amount of debt amounted to almost 41 billion zł. But despite the fact that on an annual basis debts arrived, the fourth quarter of 2014 years was the first of more than a year, when threatened, and this debt fell by 613 million zł. Statistics somewhat improved, but still too few people who have problems with repayment obligations granted to them and attempt to resolve them immediately.

In general, the first reason for non-payment of debts is the loss of a job. Sometimes, we are counting on the fact that we find work soon, but sometimes it turns out that finding a job takes longer than a month or two. However, we indicate this is not a bank, because we hope that the work will be found – explains in an interview with news agency Newseria Business Marta Rupieta, legal counsel and expert with FinFix.

A common cause of default in payment of debt are also the sudden illness of both the debtor and a member of his family. This means that most often not paid debts do not arise from the ill will of the debtor, but the deterioration of its situation. Experts advise that whatever the cause of the problem, immediately contact your creditor.

P owinniśmy as soon as possible consult with the lender, which is mainly from the bank, and try to restructure at an early stage of our debt, eg. By spreading debt into smaller installments, or by extension crediting period – advises Marta Rupieta.

Another option is credit vacation, or suspend payments for a period of time, for example. Until you find a new job.

In this situation, banks will often wish for additional security, so we must count. But of course it is worth a try. There is nothing worse than pretending that nothing is happening and not paying debts within – Rupieta says.

If the borrower misses a moment of debt restructuring, the next step could be the contract rescinded by a bank or other financial institutions, and consequently enforcement proceedings. And that – apart from the normal increase in the debt – it generates additional costs.

BIG Info Monitor and Credit Information Bureau periodically publish reports on the debt of the Poles. According to recent data at the end of December 2014 the total amount of payments increased risk among individuals amounted to 40.94 billion zł. Average debt amounted to 17.21 thousand. zł, and the problem of unpaid liabilities is 2.38 million people. The average debtor is resident Mazowieckie voivodship.
