One such organized groups specializing in winding this way since last year we work out officers of the Warsaw Central Bureau of Investigation Police. Every few weeks, the next stop involved in the dealings.
The mechanism of fraud is always similar. The perpetrators call with Polish people living abroad: in Switzerland, Germany or Austria. They convince older people that their relative – usually grandson – he got into trouble (he had an accident, crashed car, injuring themselves and others), and to get them defend needed his financial support.
Such a “patent” applied two men (22 and 26-year-old) retained at the end of April in Krakow. They took part in wyłudzeniu 400 thousand. Swiss francs from the Swiss citizen, and an attempt to extort another 50 thousand. francs, which they have not succeeded.

– Detainees heard allegations of participation in an organized criminal group and were arrested – says Hamelusz.
This is not the only case when the grandson of Polish, not moving from the spot, pulled on abroad. In the last few weeks, police arrested the four people – in Gdansk and Krakow – suspected of dozens of scams in Western Europe.

– We both were charged fraud and participation in an organized criminal group. At the request of the prosecution mother and son they were arrested – explains Agnieszka Hamelusz.
During the searches of several related sites, investigators found telephones, computer equipment, as well as money and valuables with an estimated value of over a million dollars. This, among others, Swiss francs, a significant amount of jewelry and watches worth 30 – 40 thousand. euros each.
On the other hand, in December 2015. They took the police in Wroclaw, also in the act, five people. Soon after, in Poznan similarly fallen woman, involved in the fraud.
The group is larger and existing detention is over, more are planned.
When I worked out of the gang “grandchildren” Polish officers cooperate with police officers from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In these countries – as investigators suspect – native fakes have partners who provide them with phone numbers of the elderly, affluent people.
