Polish cities will be more smart? President Schneider: the poor can not afford to buy the cheap stuff – Money.pl

Already, more than half of humanity lives in cities. In 2050 agglomerations dwell 7 out of 10 people. Cities are only 2 percent of the Earth’s surface, but in total they consume up to 70 percent of global energy. Their continuous development must end in disaster. Maybe the solution is the idea of a smart city? – Said Jacek Łukaszewski, president of Schneider Electric Poland for money.pl the ECG in Katowice. The only problem is that what today is an intelligent system will be outdated tomorrow.

As stressed Łukaszewski nobody builds agglomeration from scratch, but now in Poland for 58 percent. cities have monitoring systems. – Intelligent transport more boldly enters the large Polish cities, sometimes only a few, and in other cases, even hundreds of intersections – lists the president of Schneider Electric.

As argued, investments of this kind is not an easy thing, because the time off streets with traffic brings inconvenience to residents. – For this reason, there is no high-speed implementation of such systems – explains Łukaszewski.

Which of Polish cities it is the most intelligent? It is difficult for an unambiguous answer. – Different cities have different problems and different priorities. As for transport, Warsaw is not a leader. While certainly has something to be proud on the solutions used in water supply – said Łukaszewski.

The question of whether Polish cities can afford such intelligent, but expensive solution? – The poor can not afford to buy the cheap stuff. Cities compete for inhabitants of the business. Those that are well managed to attract the most. Therefore, there is no escape from the idea of smart – summed up the President of Schneider Electric Poland.
