The facility is known in the city, because for years they trained in the future hairdressers and beauticians. This month, the Ministry of Education upheld the decision of the superintendent of education, according to which there can now move ZS No. 1. According to the Ministry of Education in the new seat is not among able to carry out all the necessary laboratory hairdressers and cosmetic. They are important not only for learning, but also the professional exams. Meanwhile, the building at ul. Fredro has 17 classrooms, a gymnasium and two laboratories: foreign languages and computer. It is not enough. Another argument is the building itself – according to the ministry, which now houses the school of hairdressing, is in very good condition.
For these reasons, the ministry recognized that “correct and rational is functioning government schools providing vocational training in conditions that ensure the full implementation of the core curriculum of vocational education, ie. allowing the school Complex No. 1 in Bydgoszcz in the current headquarters.” MEN believes that the change in headquarters would be unfounded and irrational.
– Response from the Ministry received on August 11. We waited for it for 4.5 months. Resort negative decision argued mainly that when the superintendent of schools visited the new headquarters for the ZS No. 1, it was not prepared to vocational training hairdressers – says Iwona Waszkiewicz, Deputy Mayor of Bydgoszcz. – At the time of this visit, the town hall only planned to adapt the school to educate hairdressers, so the most natural was the fact that at that time facility was not fully prepared for this type of education. Today, we analyze in detail the justification that we have received from the ministry and considering the possibility of appeal against the decision. We have the time to 10 September.
The uncertain fate of hairstyling school
the dispute over School No. 1 in Bydgoszcz has been going on for many months. In February, after the presentation of statistics on decreasing from year to year the number of students institutions, councilors decided to move it on the street. Fredro. This would facilitate commuting from out of town students to continue their education, as the new headquarters would fall close to the train station. City have gained while new premises for officials, which partly solve the problem of lack of the sufficient number of places to go. On the occasion of the ZS No. 1 would be included in the Junior Secondary School No. 25, which is located just at ul. Fredro. This would mean a combination of both institutions, what Bydgoszcz also would gain financially. According to plans, the changes have come into force on 1 September.
However, in March of Cujavia-Pomerania School Superintendent negative opinion on intention to change the seat as the new did not guarantee continuing education without deterioration of learning. Bydgoszcz appealed against that decision to the Ministry of Education, but in August the Deputy Minister Maciej Kopeć upheld the decision of the superintendent.
