The amendment requires, inter alia, that the importer of fuel from another EU country will have to pay VAT from him within five days after bringing it into Polish.

the new law is expected to contribute also to seal the licensing sales of fuels from abroad.

Resort gray zone finance fuel is estimated at ten percent of domestic consumption. In addition to the losses of the state budget, this phenomenon has a negative impact on competition in the market and the situation in the fuel industry.

Director of the Polish Organization of Oil Industry and Trade Leszek Wieciech stresses that the sector for years pointed to the need for changes in legislation VAT-legislative instruments, and those that fall precisely in life, to a large extent reflect its demands. He added that since starting work on the package, “it is clear that there has been a deterrent effect, such as bringing fuel to the Polish trend is downward.”

Amendments to the VAT Act is one of the elements of the package of the fuel, which on July 18 signed the president Andrzej Duda. The package also includes an amendment to the Energy Law and the Law on stocks of fuel.
