“We are now looking objectively with the economy in the European style,” said Hammond in a Sunday interview, noting that the British social model is “mainstreamie European, not American standards.”
“Personally, I hope that my country will remain in the mainstream of European thinking about the economy and social issues. However, if you force us to this, we have to become someone else,” said the British Minister.
Hammond said if the UK will lose access to the European market, it will happen – at least in the short term – to the detriment of the British economy.
