The agreement was concluded for 25 years. Gearbox Aero International will offer products for the full range of civil aircraft, from jets to the commercial wide-body aircraft. Power transmission systems, sometimes referred to as drive boxes, are a key element of turbine-powered engine. One of the first products will be drivetrain designed for new engine Trent 7000 Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza will jointly manage the gearbox Aero International.
The construction of the new production facility will start at the end of the year. The new plant will benefit from the experience of the factory Hispano-Suiza Poland, which is located in Sędziszów Małopolski. There initially will employ about 110 people.
Rolls-Royce works with clients from 120 countries. Company revenue in 2014 amounted to 14.6 billion pounds. In contrast, Hispano-Suiza (Safran) is known worldwide company specializing in power transmission systems, which are used in the aerospace industry and in the manufacture of helicopters.
