this obligation applies to farmers across the country, not only in the restricted zone, set up in relation to the occurrence in Poland of African swine fever. Every pig, even if the holding is only one, must be entered in the register kept by the farmer, reported to the system of registration and identification of animals (IRZ) managed by the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture and indications.

The Ministry of Agriculture reminds that the issue of the production of meat from pigs intended for personal use has been regulated in the Act of 16 December 2005. of animal products and the provisions of Regulation of the Minister of agriculture of 21 October 2010. on veterinary requirements for the production of meat intended for personal use. These provisions, among others, say that they intend to slaughter should inform the district veterinarian at least 24 hours before slaughter and meat be tested for the presence of Trichinella.

in February, the European Commission decided to extend the protection zone in Poland for the rest of the community Zabłudów in Białystok county and the municipalities Czyże and Hajnówka in Podlaskie.
